Gemstones for Addictions

17 Mar 2008 16:00:00 | Author: Caryl

I often have requests for jewellery that will help with addictions and addictive behaviour, so thought I should write something here about the gemstones that can help.

Amethyst

Amethyst

Amethyst is a very powerful and protective stone.  It has the ability to soothe irritability and dissolve negativity with strong healing and cleansing powers.  Amethyst encourages sobriety, having a sobering effect on overindulgence of alcohol, drugs or other addictions.  It calms and stimulates the mind, helping you become more focused.

Hematite

Hematite

Hematite has the ability to ground and protects us.  It strengthens our connection with the earth, making us feel safe and secure.  Hematite endows us with courage, strength, endurance and vitality.  It dissolves negativity and prevents us from absorbing the negativity of others.  With its strong, self-esteem boosting powers, it helps us to overcome compulsions and addictions, treating overeating, smoking and other forms of overindulgence.

Iolite

Iolite

Iolite clears thought forms, opening intuition and aiding us in understanding and releasing the causes of addiction.

Lepidolite

Lepidolite

Lepidolite assists in the release and reorganisation of old behavioural and psychological patterns, gently inducing change.  It brings deep emotional healing, soothing and reducing stress and depression.  Lepidolite aids in overcoming any kind of emotional or mental dependency, supporting in the release of addictions and complaints of all kinds, including anorexia.  It encourages independence and self love and trust.

Each of these gemstones can be used to help us by wearing them as jewellery, or simply carrying a loose tumble stone in a pocket, or even adding to a keyring.

Please remember though, that in severe addiction cases, you may need extra help.
