I often receive messages from people seeking guidance about matters of the heart. Some time ago, someone wrote to ask if I could create a special talisman to help their former partner realise they still love them.
I’m not sharing this to make light of their situation, but rather to highlight something I see so often — the tendency to depend on things instead of nurturing the genuine feelings of love, honesty, and respect we wish to share, both with others and with ourselves.
Think for a moment — how many times have you treated yourself to something beautiful, hoping it would lift your spirits, only to find that the deeper feeling you wanted to change was still there? Yes, a gorgeous new pair of shoes might feel exciting for a moment, but do they truly bring you closer to joy in your heart?
Or perhaps you’ve given a gift to someone as a way of showing you care, but without ever speaking the words or showing the actions that would truly let them know. The gift may have delighted them — but do they understand why you gave it?
And then there are times when you’ve been on the receiving end — someone offers you a lovely present in an attempt to impress or please, but they never actually express what you mean to them. The chocolate may be delicious, but what was in their heart when they gave it?
Physical things can be beautiful reminders of love, but they should never be a substitute for it. They are best given as an expression of love, honesty, and connection — not in place of them.
This is why, when people come to me for guidance, I often encourage them to first focus on self-love. When you truly honour and value yourself, you radiate an energy that naturally draws real love toward you. Through my gemstone consultations, I help people choose crystals that support self-worth, healing, and emotional balance — because when your heart feels whole within, it becomes far easier to share that wholeness with another.
Gemstones such as Rose Quartz, Rhodonite, or Moonstone can gently remind you to be kind to yourself, open your heart, and trust in the love you deserve. These natural gifts of the earth don’t create love out of thin air, but they can help nurture the qualities within you that make real, lasting love possible.
And as for using objects to try and create love in someone’s heart… well, let’s just say that true love has never been something that can be bought or conjured by a charm. It blossoms from sincerity, trust, and open hearts.
With love and light,
Caryl ♥
