Materials
With all my creations at Charms Of Light - Healing Gemstone Jewellery, I prefer to use the best quality metals I can find. In all cases, the type of metal used will be stated in the information section for each piece of jewellery.
These are the only metals I use in my jewellery designs:
Silver
Sterling Silver is .925 silver.
Tibetan Silver is a silver alloy made up of silver, copper and zinc.
Gold
9ct Gold is 37.5% pure gold.
14ct Gold Filled or Gold Fill is a layer of gold which is bonded by heat and pressure to a base metal core (usually brass or copper). The term “Gold Filled” can only be used when the amount of gold used equals one-twentieth of the total weight of the piece. 14ct Gold Filled (or Gold Fill) is referred to as 14/20 G.F. The first number is the carat of the gold layer, the second refers to the amount by weight of the gold in relation to the base layer. Gold Fill represents a valuable, yet affordable option to carat gold.
